Stores we reached out to.
Campaigns - Anti-Smuggling page - Contacted stores
This transparency report shows which UK ant retailers we contacted offering a lawful, shared import route.
We invited every store to join us in importing fully inspected, CHED-linked colonies, shared the full costs, and gave clear instructions on how to take part. A swift reply would have allowed a store to confirm independent compliance, decline politely, or join the scheme.
The fact that several businesses did not reply is, in itself, meaningful. It leaves consumers and the public wondering how those stores are sourcing stock. We will continue to update this list if any store replies.
If you are a retailer and you have a CHED numbers or APHA documentation you would like added, please contact foundation@antanticsfoundation.org with evidence and the date of your import so we can update this list.
Please note: We have not contacted independent or private sellers who are not commercially established within the UK, nor individuals without easily identifiable websites. Exercise caution when purchasing from sites that do not comply with UK distance selling regulations.
Distance selling regulations need:
-
A valid physical address listed on the site (this can not be a PO Box or email. Check T'&C's and privacy policy. This must be visible before purchase and can not be hidden behind contact forms e.t.c)
-
Business information and company number (or the persons full name if they are a sole trader)
-
Contact information (Email as a minimum, gov.uk recommends a phone number too)

Best Ants UK stated that they do not import directly from overseas and instead purchase their non native species exclusively from a UK based seller. We provided guidance on how to ensure their orders are compliant and the due diligence steps they should follow.
This summary is based solely on the comments supplied by the seller. The Foundation has seen no evidence to verify or confirm this claim, and the store will remain listed for transparency.
